The Hope Collective - Saturday 3 October 2015

Join a global movement of Yoga teachers, healers and practitioners coming together to raise awareness, funds and precious supplies for the Refugee Crisis. A movement based on love and compassion, it may just be one tiny drop in the ocean, but if we come together, many drops will create ripples of change. Every life counts and trying to make a difference - even for 1 minute in 1 day of 1 person's life - is always worthwhile. Now is the time to show that we care. We must not turn our backs on this immense suffering.

What Is The Hope Collective?

The Hope Collective is a global movement of Yoga teachers, healers and wellness practitioners coming together around the world  to raise awareness, funds and precious supplies for the current Refugee Crisis.  Our intention is to create a global community offering events, teachings and healings on Saturday 3 October as a mini movement to raise the vibration of love, compassion and oneness around the world.

All profits will be donated to  Médecins sans frontières, an international humanitarian-aid non-governmental organisation and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, best known for its projects in war-torn regions. Their focus is to deliver emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters. They are currently also working closely with Migrant Offshore Aid Station to help those refugees risking their lives to brave perilous sea-crossings in their desperate quest for freedom through our Just Giving page.

Why Get Involved?

When we act selflessly as an individual to help others, that is a truly beautiful thing. When we harness that energy and come together as a global community, strangers acting with compassion and love, united in an intention to show solidarity – that is an act of great power. The Hope Collective is a way for each and every one of us to stand up and say ‘I care’.

This traditional symbol of hope is our guide. The Hope symbol marks the four points of the compass and their connection to the outermost points of the horizon where the sun passes through the year. Just as the sun acts without discrimination, journeying through each corner of the world to shine it’s light, so too can we reach out across the oceans to create a web of solidarity. This is the message of The Hope Collective and a symbol of our unity, solidarity and oneness with all things. Join us and keep spreading this powerful message of love.

How you can help

The Hope Collective is guided by the Yogic principles of  Seva – the art of selfless service. Ahimsa -  respect for all living things and avoidance of violence towards others. And Kula – a community of the heart built on respect and the understanding of our oneness with all things.

Everything counts. Your intention, your commitment to stand up and say ‘I care’ is the greatest gift that you can offer. Remember, £10 or £1,000 it all helps and acts as a powerful gesture of our global community coming together to show that we care and live by the practices that we teach of love and compassion. Here are some of the ways in which you can become part of The Hope Collective global movement:

  • Wellness Teacher or Expert: Set up a local fundraising event in your community. This could be as simple as donating profits from a yoga or wellness class that you are already running on that day or setting up a unique event to raise funds and awareness. Find out more
  • Wellness Therapists and Studios: Offer a percentage of your profits on Saturday 3 October to The Hope Collective. Advertise your participation to ensure an extra busy day and to raise the vibration of The Hope Collective intention. Find out more
  • Studio / Practice Space Owners: Donate studio space to teachers so they can run Hope Collective events on Saturday 3 October. Find out more
  • Attend an event: We can’t do it without you! Join a Hope Collective event in your area and help us to raise precious funds. Click here to visit The Hope Collective Events Schedule
